Screenplay Reading Live!

The Writers Guild of America, East presents

Join us for a live reading of two new scripts, a drama and a comedy, written by WGAE members. It will be a memorable evening featuring Taye DiggsRachel DratchSteve Schirripa and many more.

SOMETIMES LIFE IS HARD, by Robbie Chafitz, is an offbeat romantic comedy about an uptight writer of household product directions who attempts to overhaul his humdrum life. In doing so, he accidentally transforms his new 30-year-old girlfriend into believing she is a 13-year-old French Canadian pop star.

WEATHER OR NOT, by Suzanne Johnson, is about a small Midwestern town in the 1960s that is rocked by scandal when a young girl inadvertently tells her brother the truth about their sexy boarder and, in the process, learns the importance of standing up for what she believes.

The screenplay readings will be cast by Caroline Sinclair Casting and directed by WGAE member Amanda Cole. WGAE President Michael Winship will introduce the evening and moderate interviews with both writers. A reception will conclude the evening.
