TV Pilots Resurrected

The Writers Guild of America, East presents
In partnershop with New Wave at the Film Society of Lincoln Center

Join us for a live reading of two scripts, a drama and a comedy, written for the small screen.

FLICKER, by John Gray
A grifter and former con-woman, Ivy Pelham has used those skills to make an unlikely rise to the top of the Hollywood food chain as the first female owner of a movie studio. Dealing with corporate espionage, L.A.'s political corruption, and attacks from other cutthroat Hollywood moguls will pale in comparison to the threat that emerges as her dark past comes back to haunt her. Oh… and the year is 1925, the height of the multi-billion dollar a year silent movie industry.

RUSHING IN by Martha (Marty) Johnson and Mark Odlum
A PBS historical reality program about the Gold Rush goes off the rails when its mix of highbrow and lowbrow cast members create an educational disaster.

The screenplay readings will be cast by Caroline Sinclair Casting and directed by WGAE member Robbie Chafitz. WGAE President Michael Winship will introduce the evening and moderate interviews with both writers. A reception will conclude the evening.
