Flight Attendants and the National Mediation Board

-one election scheduled and one re-vote due to interference still pending

The dates were announced yesterday for the Flight Attendant representation election at United Airlines and Continental Airlines.   The voting instructions will be mailed on May 17th and the votes will be counted at 1400 EDT on June 29th.  The balloting period is six weeks to give ample time for those based outside of the continental United States to receive their voting instructions.

The NMB has a record number of mediation cases right now in addition to the heavy workload arising out of the numerous mergers.  But we have waited long enough for our chance to participate in a fair and interference-free election.  It has been six months since our election.

Delta flight attendants need a contract.  We need pay and work rules that cannot be taken away by management on a whim.  We want to move forward toward this goal as soon as possible and to do that the NMB is going to have to issue a decision.

As Delta Flight Attendants we are poised to join an invigorated and more unified AFA.  With the Continental Airlines Flight Attendants in the family, the Flight Attendant Union will be stronger than ever and we look forward to further strengthening and enhancing our profession by joining AFA.

Has Anyone Contacted You About the Interference Charge?

Please let us know.  Thank you and hang in there.  We’re all frustrated about the wait.
