Dear Supporter,

Selling of Trips

Incentive bonus entries on ETB, such as "I will pay $100 if you take my trip" or "I will give you 100 puppies if you take my trip", which are used to entice other flight attendants to pick up particular trips are not permitted. The Company and the AFA do not approve of incentive bonuses. All such entries will not be allowed in the Trade Board environment and the bid will be removed if the Crew Scheduler is notified. We are asking for your cooperation with ensuring this practice does not occur.

July Primary Lines

July Primary Lines: The Manager of Crew Scheduling, John Petronzi set the maximums in ALL bases at 90:00 of Company time. The pilots built some higher lines (up to 95) on the 737’s and CLT 76I.  If your line is above 90 please review the article titled Monthly Line Information on Wings. Go to the heading Lines and Pairings click on Bidding & Seniority Info-CLT/DCA/PHL. Under Recent Updates you will find Monthly Line Information.

SAP: PHL, DCA and CLT open May 24th at 1800.  PHL closes May 30th at 1800.  CLT and DCA close May 31st at 1800.  The SAP non-high option window is MAX of 90 and MIN of 60.  July 4th is a Protected Holiday. Note: Some DROPS  were honored on this holiday in SAP 2011; therefore, with the "New Upgraded SAP System" (which loops back) more DROPS on July 4th should occur in SAP 2012.

Secondary Lines: The lines will open June 7th at 1800 and close June 12th at 1800.  Any Secondary lineholder that wishes more Company time (to a Max of 90) may use the Secondary Line Augmentation process which opens on June 14th at 0700 and closes June 21st at 1800.

Reserves: The maximum for the bid month will be 90:00; therefore, a reserve may call out of time at 85:01.

TI Lines with Line Lead-ins:  The Pilots Scheduling Committee constructed some TI lines with a 70-89 building range and on the CLT 76I  equipment some lines had one day  (NTI) trips to meet the average set by the Company. In Primary Line building we cannot use their extended window because flight attendant primary windows are 70-85, 75-90 and 80-95 by the CBA.  Additionally, we cannot add NTI day trips or mix destinations because of LODO conflicts and/or different crew complements.  As a result, to make as many TI lines as possible inserting line lead- in (dummy time) trips was devised and put in the CBA.  Refer to the article on WINGS for a full explanation of the flexibility that exists when a line lead in trip is inserted and how line obligation works if you are awarded such a line. Go to the heading Lines and Pairings click on Bidding & Seniority Info-CLT/DCA/PHL. Under Recent Updates you will find Primary Lines with Line Lead-in Trips.  Remember: Each time a line lead-in pairing is utilized to bring up the value of a line you may utilize the provisions on page 9-28 line 24 of the Contract. Additionally, the Company and AFA concur that the protection associated with carry over trips, on 9-28 line 39, will also apply to a flight attendant that is automatically removed from a pairing in the new month due to a legality related to flying his/her last trip(s) of the old month.

Line Constructed Process: The Pilot Permanent bid for June, July and August are the same. Once the pilot scheduling committee builds the number of blocks required by their permanent bid the remaining "FAD-FAI-33F" open time (left by the pilot scheduling committee) is made into "flight attendant only lines". Additionally, the Crew Planners (in PHX) create extra flight attendant pairings (21M & 7IM). Once those pairings are completed they are built into 21M or 71M lines. Finally, the Pilot Permanent Bid figures and the numbers related to the Flight Attendant only lines are added together to determine the total bidding positions by base. The results are listed below.   The information shown is compared to the NON-LODO bidding positions for June.

Lineholders For July 2012:

DCA: No Change-Primary lineholders 219.
CLT: No Change - Primary NON-LODO lineholders equals 1521.
PHL: Increases by 03 positions - Primary NON-LODO lineholders equals 1473.

Note: Manpower Planning in PHX divided the 21M flying as follows:  72 % to CLT and 28% to PHL.  To give you pertinent information and educate you on the process of building Primary Lines this bid memo is written by Carol Austin - AFA Scheduling Chairperson and John Petronzi -Manager Flight Attendant Scheduling.
