On April 4, 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, where he had gone to stand with sanitation workers demanding their dream for the right to bargain collectively, for a voice and for a better life.
Today, as we approach the 43rd anniversary of Dr. King’s death, that same demand is electrifying people across America. Now is the time to stand up and demonstrate our strength as a movement!
This coming week, the NALC will join the AFL-CIO for a number of mobilizations to stand in solidarity with all our hard-working brothers and sisters.
Below is an event happening in Oregon. Please continue to check NALC’s website for the most up-to-date information.
- Monday, April 4, 5:30-6:30pm, Director’s Park, Southwest 9th and Yam Hill, Portland
