The NALC e-Activist Network

Dear Supporter,

Over the next month, Congress will be forced to make major decisions about the future of the Postal Service. We all must do our part to ensure that the concerns of both the customers and the hardworking men and women of USPS are taken into consideration.

On Tuesday, September 27, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (local time), members of the four employee unions of the United States Postal Service will join forces with our allies to send a message to the nation and its Congress.

During these informational "Save America's Postal Service" rallies, we will visit the home office of each member of the House of Representatives. We will thank those members who have signed on as co-sponsors of H.R. 1351, a bill that addresses the financial crisis facing the Postal Service. And we will encourage those who have not signed as co-sponsors of H.R. 1351 to do so.

Rally events will engage the public through speeches, handouts and gatherings to make our voices heard. Click this link to find out more.

It's anticipated that a wide variety of supporters will participate in these "Save America's Postal Service" rallies, including small business owners who use the mail to advertise, businesses that consistently ship products using the Postal Service, and faith leaders and progressive allies who have concerns for the plight of working men and women.

We want as many people as possible to attend the rallies on September 27. We also want to show our representatives that we have the backing and support of thousands who cannot be present that day—our family members, friends, neighbors and members of our communities...anyone who has an interest in saving America's Postal Service.

The rallies may be two and a half weeks away, but you can get a head start on getting involved right now.

Please click this link to download a petition. Print it out, then get as many signatures as you can between now and September 27. (Feel free to print as many copies as you need.)

If you are planning to attend a rally at your representative's office, bring the petition sheet(s) with you and personally deliver the signatures then. If you are unable to attend such a rally, please mail the petition sheet(s) to your representative's office, timed to arrive by September 27.

Our combined dedication and activism will contribute to returning the Postal Service to solid financial footing.

In Solidarity,

Fredric V. Rolando, President
National Association of Letter Carriers
