The NALC e-Activist Network

Dear Supporter,

December 2011 Postal RecordThis is the December 2011 edition of the "President's Preview," a quick look at the upcoming edition of The Postal Record that's in the mail now. This e-mail message is part of our ongoing effort to ensure that your union stays in touch with every e-Activist at least once a month.

In the December magazine, you'll find my President's Message, titled, "Battling on three fronts to save America’s Postal Service"

Harry Truman famously said that "If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog." That remark resonates in 2011 as we fight to save our jobs and the future of America's Postal Service. In politics, reliable friends are hard to come by. So as we battle on three distinct legislative fronts, we cannot rely solely on congressional friends to save the USPS. We have to rely on each other, too. And we have to do it even as we work to negotiate a new labor contract. Fortunately, NALC's membership and activists have responded magnificently to the challenge of this three-front legislative war.

Thank you for signing up to be a member of the NALC e-Activist Network. Please make sure your brother and sister members are e-Activists, too, to stay informed with valuable, timely messages and alerts about issues important to letter carriers and the U.S. Postal Service. If you know members who are not e-Activists, please forward this e-mail to them and ask them to go to nalc.org to sign up today.

In Solidarity,

Fredric V. Rolando, President
National Association of Letter Carriers
