Tomorrow—Sunday, March 25—you should receive a phone call inviting you to join one of two teleconferences that I will be hosting for tens of thousands of letter carriers across the country. If you have provided the NALC with a valid phone number, you should receive this call. Please accept this call and stay on the line.
- For NALC members in the Eastern and Central time zones, the teleconference will take place at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
- For NALC members in the Mountain and Pacific time zones (as well as in Alaska and Hawaii), the teleconference will take place at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
I will use this opportunity to discuss our opposition to the amended version of S. 1789, the deeply flawed postal reform bill that was first introduced last November and that could come up for a vote in the Senate as early as Monday.
I realize that you might not be home to answer Sunday’s call and participate in the teleconference. If you can’t take part, make sure you go to nalc.org for the latest developments in our fight to get Congress to pass true postal reform that solves the Postal Service’s current fiscal crisis and strengthens the agency.
